The difference between the two psp is that the original is mod able, and you can turn it into a universal remote. The newest psp 3000, from what I understand so far, is not mod able. Just to clarify, modding is when a psp's motherboard is overwritten by the Pandora's battery and a magic memory stick. This makes it so that a psp can play .iso or .cso format homebrew games.
